Twitch Streamer Amouranth Banned For Flashing On Stream

People may not like her methods but there’s no refuting Kaitlyn “Amouranth,” Siragusa’s success. The controversial Twitch streamer has received over 1.1 million subscribers. However, her recent slip up may have cost Amouranth her Twitch channel.

During yesterday’s stream, Siragusa went to play with her dog on the floor. What should have been a wholesome moment went very wrong. The unfortunate Twitch streamer ended up flashing her you know what live to thousands of viewers. Needless to say, Twitch was not impressed. Her channel was shut down and banned 12 hours after the incident. Sexual content is not permitted on Twitch in any form.

Sexually explicit content and activities, such as pornography, sexual acts, and sexual services, including solicitation and offers for such content, are prohibited.

For those interested, Sooflower’s regular content involves playing games and cosplaying. You can check out her channel here.

Amouranth isn’t the first Twitch streamer to fall victim of this rule. Only a couple weeks ago, Twitch issued a 72-hour ban against several Korean models. Sooflower, Damicos, addielyn9, and chobiman0125 were all banned for posting sexually suggestive content. This involved them being in bikinis, which isn’t in itself against the rules and playing together in a pool. The killer moment was probably when they pressed themselves against a wall of glass for their viewers.

I doubt the ban will do much to slowdown similar future content. These Korean women found themselves top of the ‘Just Chatting’ category. Sooflower posted hours later that she would be back in a few days. She wasn’t lying either, having streamed well over 20 times since the ban.

The context behind Amouranth and Sooflower’s bans were very different. Sooflower’s was very deliberate whilst Amouranth’s appears to have been an honest mistake. However, they both point to a mutual problem. Twitch has a legitimate porn dilemma. Twitch either need to embrace this content and give it a platform or step up and ban it outright.
