On the 16th of January, we had received news from CD Projekt Red on social media that Cyberpunk 2077 was going to be delayed until the 17th of September. The official statement read as follows:
This announcement, needless to say, caught the gaming community off guard but nonetheless we are still guaranteed to receive the most anticipated game of the decade by the end of this year. As the statement mentions, CD Projekt Red wants to make Cyberpunk 2077 their “crowning achievement” and that passion and dedication are what time and time again, makes me extremely optimistic for the final game we will receive.
A little longer in the oven does not hurt anyone, the months forthcoming will allow the team to polish out any bugs that may be loitering about within the game so we won’t have to experience them on the actual release. There may be even more quests and other features implemented into the world if they have time to do so. All in all, I’m happy that they have taken the extra time needed to iron out any ridges and I’m sure that the seven-year wait will be worth it.
